for the PSEG Long Island Heat Pump and Electric Vehicle Conference

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM • Hilton Long Island / Huntington

The power shift: electrifying a clean Long Island.

As the world shifts its focus to clean energy solutions, electrification is emerging as a powerful decarbonization strategy. Its value is clear: by converting fossil-fuel burning systems that use natural gas, oil, propane, or gasoline to electric power, it reduces carbon emissions, saves consumers and businesses money, and ensures tomorrow’s renewable energy. Our conference is built around the two major drivers of this electrification transition: heat pumps and electric vehicles. Join us for a day of hands-on workshops and proven sales techniques, as we explore how these sustainable energy ‘enablers’ are transforming the way we live, work, and travel.

What will I learn

Explore the ways today’s electrified heating, cooling, and mobility technologies are impacting the various sectors of our economy, providing you with practical, cost-effective ways to reduce fossil fuel use, and build a more sustainable future.

Workshop sessions

Collaborate with industry experts at 15 curated workshops and presentations, covering all aspects of the technologies. Customize your day by choosing three sessions that interest you most.

Who should attend

The entire day is designed for business owners, facilities managers, property owners, developers, local government agencies, architects, engineers, and contractors, giving stakeholders this unique opportunity to engage and collaborate on clean energy solutions and technologies.

Driving sustainability on Long Island.

Long Islanders are leading the charge in the fight to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as electric vehicle (EV) technologies take center stage in the transition to a carbon-free future.  Long Island leads New York State in EV adoption, with more than 80,000 EVs currently on the road – and that number is expected to continue to grow.  PSEG Long Island is powering this momentum by offering incentives to expand infrastructure for EV charging stations, training programs and special commercial EV rates, while supporting commercial customers, contractors and fleet owners.

This is your opportunity to learn about the latest advancements and explore the growing potential of clean transportation as Long Island drives toward an electric future.

How heat pumps work and why the are so energy efficient.

Solutions for all seasons.
As an all-season, energy-efficient, heating and cooling system, heat pumps extract heat energy from molecules in the air and transfers it in and out of a home or business, depending on the season. Using advanced inverter technology and refrigerants, heat pumps can extract heat energy even from below-zero temperatures outdoors, and then pump that heat indoors in the winter. In the summer, that same system moves heat energy in the opposite direction, pumping it out of indoor spaces to cool them down. So, it’s a heating system and an air conditioner, all in one.

What makes them so energy efficient?
Two things: 1) it takes much less energy to move heat than it does to generate it, and 2) modern ASHP’s use variable-speed compressors which adjust their output to match the heating/cooling demand. Electric heat pumps are more cost-effective, cleaner, and energy efficient than traditional fossil-fuel based systems—so they’re better for your budget and the environment. Plus, PSEG Long Island can help you qualify for significant incentives when you upgrade.

Why upgrade?
For greater comfort, in every sense. This one, intelligent, dual-purpose solution will heat in the winter, cool in the summer, and help lower energy spending all year long—quietly, efficiently and economically. That’s why they’re so popular on Long Island and beyond.
